EcoTerra® Waterproof Tile Backer Board

The EcoTerra multi-purpose waterproof backer board uses an eco-friendly XPS extruded polystyrene board as its core — high compressive strength, B1 fire-rated, corrosion-resistant, low thermal conductivity. Alkali-resistant fibreglass mesh is wrapped on both faces, then coated with modified cement mortar, and formed in one piece through a composite penetration process. The result offers compressive and flexural strength, waterproofing, corrosion resistance, low thermal conductivity and strong bonding. It also provides decoupling, isolating crack stress from the substrate below and reducing cracking of the finish layer under deformation and vibration.

Structure

Core — extruded polystyrene (XPS), closed-cell structure that prevents water migration and blocks water-vapour transmission. Core colour selectable (blue / green / pink / grey etc.).
Reinforcement — alkali-resistant glass-fibre mesh on both faces, increasing strength and rigidity.
Coating — specially formulated polymer mortar surface, compatible with modified polymer mortars, tile adhesives and other finishing primers.
